Privacy, Confidentiality & Consent

CLINICAL COUNSELLING is a voluntary, collaborative, and professional relationship. My role is to provide a confidential, respectful, and psychologically safe space where you can explore your experiences, relationships, emotions, and challenges at your own pace.
You remain in control of what you share, how you participate, and the direction of your therapy. You are welcome to ask questions, set boundaries, and provide feedback at any time.
I recognise the strengths, wisdom, and resilience you already hold, and we will work together to support your wellbeing, autonomy, and capacity for meaningful life changes.
THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES
I am trained in multiple evidence-based and experiential therapies, including and not limited to:
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
• Somatic Experiencing® (SE)
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)
• Developmental & attachment-informed approaches
• Nature-based therapy
• Canine-Assisted Counselling & Psychotherapy
• Therapeutic Arts Practice (currently training)
Your therapy will be tailored to your needs, preferences, values, and goals.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a mindfulness- and values-based approach that supports you to develop a kinder, more flexible relationship with your thoughts, emotions, and memories. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult experiences, ACT helps you respond to them in ways that support what matters most to you.
ACT may support:
• Reduced impact of unhelpful thinking
• Greater emotional flexibility
• Improved self-compassion
• Stronger connection to values
• Increased engagement in life and relationships
Sessions may include reflection, guided visualisation, creative activities, movement, or experiential exercises.
Optional reading:
“The Happiness Trap” – Dr Russ Harris
“Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life” – Dr Steven Hayes
Somatic Experiencing® (SE)
Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based, trauma-informed approach that supports your nervous system to gently release stress and restore a sense of safety and regulation.
SE focuses on:
• Body awareness
• Sensory experiences
• Nervous system regulation
• Gradual processing of stress and trauma
You are always supported to work at your own pace. You can pause, change direction, or stop an exercise at any time.
